Remove that virtual foot from your mouth

March 31st, 2010 by katrina

Ok, we’ve all sent an email we wish we hadn’t or maybe we wrote an article on our blog we’ve come to regret. It can take some time for this content to drop out of the Google listings once indexed, even after we’ve physically removed the content.

This article on the Google Blog explains the options now available to webmasters to speed up the process of removing indexed content.

We talk about the importance of social media and the business impact it’s capable of. But many of us make the mistakes listed in this great article on the eConsultancy site. Have a look through and see how many you’re guilty of!

Update 1 – Stick it to MS

July 13th, 2009 by katrina

Stu is all setup and registered. The event starts proper at 1pm with the record attempt scheduled for 3pm. We’re adding more photo’s to the flickr feed as they come. Not all of the full 600 have arrived yet and it’s already deafening! The last photo update shows the view from the balcony of all the drummers who’ve arrived so far.

We hope both Stu and our intrepid reporter Ash have remembered their ear plugs :)

Stick it to MS

July 13th, 2009 by steve

The world record attempt takes place today. Stu will be keeping us up to date as the day progresses with messages and pictures. More info as we get it. We had a custom drum skin printed for Stu’s bass drum as we thing it looks quite fetching. Seems strange seeing the logo on the front of a drum kit. We’re even more Rock ‘n Roll than we thought!

Good luck Stu!

Drumming up interest of a different kind

June 22nd, 2009 by steve

Normally, writing blog posts has the purpose of drumming up interest in the goings on here at Pyxisoft HQ. Sure, we try and make some of our articles useful and informative, but there is always the secondary purpose of promoting the business.

Anyway, this post is about drumming of a very different kind – drumming in the real sense.

Our very own Stuart Gale (Sales) is taking part in a world record attempt all in aid of MS. The event called Stick it to MS and the basic idea is to beat the current record of 533 drummers playing the same beat at the same time. The event is at the Birmingham NIA and will have 600 drummers playing.

We’re proud to sponsor Stu for this very worthy cause and will keep you all informed on how it goes.

Let there be Rock!

On the plus side, our friends over a PushOn did get shortlisted – for the best use of search; for their work on ‘The Little Greene‘ website. Well done guys, the beers are definitely on you!

American Soda came to us to look after the ongoing development of the well establish e-commerce presence. Big Chip Update

April 16th, 2009 by roy

Well, 7th April came and went with no news of the shortlist for BigChip 11. Apparently the sheer number of entries this year, meant that shortlisting was going to be delayed.

Well, today has brought news that people are beginning to find out. The list has not been published yet, as the organisers are contacting each of the shortlistees (is that even a word?) individually before the list is announced.

No news yet, but fingers crossed…..

April 7th seems a long way away

April 2nd, 2009 by steve

Pyxisoft have entered this years Big Chip Awards. We’re entered into the “Best Use of e-Business” category for the work with Cardinal Maritime and the FreightCalculator.

We’ll find out on 7th April if we’ve been short-listed or not. Seems like a long way off. Last time I remember feeling like this was when I was at Uni waiting in results day!

Roll on next week.
